The new thriller from Robert Harris is a mystery about a Prime Minister's ghost-writer. But a whodunit even darker than The Ghost haunted delegates at Labour's conference - the identity of the figure ghosting Gordon Brown's speeches. It became controversial, as much seemed familiar. And this could not be blamed on Brown's banality and vacuity. Well, not entirely, for he mouthed phrases remarkably reminiscent of those celebrated orators, Al Gore and John Kerry. And their speechwriter was one Robert Shrum, who many think is secretly the nearest Brown has to an Alastair Campbell. .
Chattanooga natives say options today give them more ways to celebrate
Nothing says Thanksgiving like a store-bought dessert, a hotel buffet or a car show. Baby boomers say they have more ways to celebrate their blessings on the fourth Thursday of November than their families did when they were raised in Chattanooga in the 1950s and 1960s. "I have more options than my mother thought she had," said Linda Martin of Tulsa, Okla., who said she and her family sometimes eat their Thanksgiving meal at a hotel. "The important thing, I think, is that we have always all been grateful for our blessings, no matter what tradition we recognize." Darius Keith of Daytona, Fla., said when he was growing up his family would take him to back-to-back Thanksgiving feasts with relatives on Sand Mountain. They would go first to his mother's parents in Pisgah, Ala., then to his father's family in Henagar, Ala.

SP Brewery is now the official sponsor of the PNG Golf Open after announcing its K185,000 sponsorship at the SP Brewery Brewkettle last Thursday night.
SP general manager Stan Joyce said: �Under our South Pacific Export Lager brand, the double-gold winner at the Monde Selection in both Brussels and Barcelona, I am pleased to commit K185,000 in cash to the PNG Golf Open Committee for the 2008 South Pacific Export PNG Golf Open.�
Joyce said that over the company�s 55 years of operation, SP Brewery has supported many sports, recently the SP Cup � the premier rugby league competition in PNG, the Export Rugby Sevens, Cricket, Team PNG to Samoa, not forgetting the SP Sports Awards which was launched three weeks ago.
�This year, SP Brewery is proud to have formed a great partnership with the sport of golf in PNG, in particular the PNG Golf Open,� said Joyce.
